This applied dance course will cover technical and choreographic principles applied to a variety of major dance genres: ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, and international styles. Students will learn and audition for pieces in these different genres that will be performed in a final production for the community at the end of the semester. Students will discover connections between dance, music, design, physics, geometry, nutrition, and kinesiology and develop an awareness of their potential in a variety of dance- related careers.
