Course Objective:
The course is designed to introduce the students to the process and tools associated with filmmaking and animation. The course is divided into two parts: cinema studies, which emphasize film language, analysis, iconography, genre and mise-en-scene. The other part is production, which involves: producing, screenplay writing, cinematography, directing, art direction, sound and editing. Through the class the student will learn: pre-production skills, film production, cinematography, digital video camera operation and sound recording procedures, basic studio lighting and the fundamentals of editing. In animation the student will learn the graphic novel, time lapse, claymation, computer animation(flash) and stopmotion animation.
